Actor de The Flash fue despedido por tweets racistas y sexistas

Siguen las complicaciones en las series de CW y está vez el equipo de The Flash decidió despedir al actor Hartley Sawyer luego de que se hicieran públicos una serie de tweets machistas y racistas que él realizó.

Este altercado ocurre luego de que el actor publicará un tweet en apoyo al movimiento Black Lives Matter y que fue respondido por unos usuarios recordándole posts del 2012 y 2013 en donde realizaba bromas y amenazas con los tópicos previamente mencionados.

En respuesta a esta situación el director del show Eric Wallace realizó un comunicado en donde explicaba los motivos tras el despido del actor y su tristeza de leer sus crueles comentarios.

Sobre la situación Sawyer, quien interpretaba a Ralph Dibny , publicó un texto en Instagram donde pedía disculpas por la situación y declaraba sentirse muy arrepentido y avergonzado de lo ocurrido.

Sobre el futuro de su personaje, quien hace equipo junto a Flash como Elongated Man, aún no se sabe si será eliminado o reemplazado, lo que recuerda la actual situación que vive la serie Batwoman del mismo estudio.

My words, irrelevant of being meant with an intent of humor, were hurtful, and unacceptable. I am ashamed I was capable of these really horrible attempts to get attention at that time. I regret them deeply. This was not acceptable behavior. These were words I threw out at the time with no thought or recognition of the harm my words could do, and now have done today. Years ago, thanks to friends and experiences who helped me to open my eyes, I began my journey into becoming a more responsible adult - in terms of what I say, what I do, and beyond. I've largely kept that journey private, and this is another way that I have let so many down. I still have more work to do. But how I define myself now does not take away the impact of my words, or my responsibility for them. I am very sorry.
